At City Breaks Guide.com we care about our customer’s health and well being, we have researched the idea of how short city breaks, long weekends and package deals can play a part in the healthy balance of our lives.
Short breaks and long weekends are taking over from traditional summer holidays and lead to higher productivity at work.
This is according to new research, which reveals that UK workers are set to book 82,763,000 short city breaks this year.
Less then one in three (30 per cent) will book a traditional fortnight's summer
package deal, while 70 per cent say they are more likely to book short holiday
package deal or long weekend than they were five years ago.
Two thirds of world employees feel that if they book a shorter break this will lead to higher productivity when compared with traditional two-week package deal. This figure is highest in the North East (69 per cent) and the North West (67 per cent).
The head of operations for a major employer, commented: "While factors like the increase of cheap flights and last minute deals play their part, it seems many people also find that a short city break or long weekend cut down workplace stress."
Three times as many people believe that the traditional summer fortnight causes more stress than a short holiday or long weekend does.
One of those surveyed pointed out: "
A short break is like a power nap", and another summed up by remarking: "The long holiday can break up the year and is something to look forward to in the long term, while the short breaks can be quick stress relievers in the short term."
It was concluded: "Whatever the changes in holiday trends . . . a complete change from work is always valuable, whether this is achieved by lots of long weekends or by mixing short breaks with a longer holiday in each year."
